BACHELOR OF SCIENCE in industrial technology

Bioprocess Manufacturing

East Carolina University’s College of Technology & Computer Science (TECS) offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology (BSIT) to provide a degree completion option for technology students from community colleges.  This program offers up to 63 credits including  37 hours of technical content credit for those who have previously earned an AAS degree from a community college. General education (foundations) credit is awarded per the articulation agreement of the UNC System and the NC Community College System.  Students must take courses included in this articulation agreement to be able to transfer them to four year institutions in the UNC System. Since 63 transfer credits are possible and 37 credits are awarded for the technical content of the AAS program, 26 credits of general education are possible for transfer from an accredited community college or technical institute.

Seven concentrations are available for this degree.   The newest concentration is Bioprocess Manufacturing and can be completed online.

Even if you do not have an AAS in Biotechnology or Biology, you may be eligible to concentrate your Industrial Technology studies in this area, especially if you have work experience in a Biotechnology field.

Examples of AAS degrees that can transition into the BSIT Bioprocess Manufacturing concentration:

Biotechnology
Bioprocess Technology
Industrial Pharmaceutical Technology
Chemical Process Technology
